Frequently Asked Questions

Coaching is a space to slow things down and make sense of what’s going on for you. Together, we explore your patterns, needs, and how your brain works, so you can find ways of living that feel more aligned with your wiring.

It’s not about being told what to do. It’s collaborative, non-judgemental, and led by you. There’s no pressure to perform or “get it right.” We go at your pace.

Coaching and therapy can overlap, but they often have different focuses.

Therapy may explore past experiences, trauma, or mental health in more depth.

Coaching is more focused on the present, understanding what’s happening for you now, what’s getting in the way, and what might help.

Some people move between therapy and coaching at different times, depending on what they need.

If at any point it feels like therapy would be more supportive, I’ll always say.

Coaching can be helpful if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or trying to make sense of patterns that aren’t working for you. You don’t need to have it all figured out before starting, we do that together. If it turns out something else would support you better, we can talk that through.

A 60 minute session is often enough if you:

  • Prefer a shorter, more contained space
  • Find longer sessions tiring or overwhelming

Ninety minute sessions can be helpful if you:

  • Have something specific you want to focus on
  • Need more time to settle in before talking
  • Find things take a while to untangle
  • Don’t want to feel rushed or cut off mid-thought

There’s no “right” way to do this. Some people prefer fewer, longer sessions with more space in between. Others prefer more frequent shorter sessions, especially if it takes time to access what’s really going on.

We can adjust as we go, depending on what works best for you.

Many are surprised at how quickly time passes in the 90 minute session. We can do a lot of good work in this time frame, if you find it's a little too long  we can adjust the session length and frequency.

A single session will help you to catch a breath, and is a good place to start:

  • To identify why you feel stuck
  • To have clarity if things feel tangled
  • If you’re not sure what you need yet
  • If you want space to pause and make sense of things

Three sessions will give you space to come back to things, notice what’s changing and build some momentum. It can be helpful if:

  • You want to explore something a bit more deeply
  • Patterns are repeating and you’d like to begin shifting them
  • One session doesn’t feel like it would be enough
  • You know it will take more than one session to relax into our work

Six sessions will allow for a steadier pace, deeper exploration, change that has time to settle and take shape, getting you closer to that state of equilibrium. It is more suited if:

  • Things have been building over time
  • You want ongoing support and space to integrate
  • You’re working with identity, boundaries, or longer-standing patterns

We can adjust as we go, depending on what works best for you.

  • The frequency of coaching sessions depends on your goals, your preferred time line and our availability.  Typically we will meet weekly or bi-weekly to enable you to get traction and momentum, however we can leave it longer between sessions if you have a longer term goal.

No. You can start with a single session and see how it feels. If you’d like to continue, we can look at options together.

  • For our first session, you will receive a booking link (Calendly)

  • Every session is forward looking, person-centered (about you), action focused (your actions, the good work part) and unique to your experience and goals.

  • We will meet via Microsoft Teams and ease into the session gently to orientate you to the space and the work we are about to do.

  • Every session is forward looking, person-centered (about you), action focused (your actions, the good work part) and unique to your experience and goals.

  • There may be a semi structure to our sessions, or it may be quite fluid, it depends very much on what you'd like to gain and take away from that session, and how you like to work.

  • If you haven't had coaching before, it won't be long before you'll  look forward to the space I create for you, and the level of listening I will afford you. Deep listening is something we rarely encounter in the day to day rush, and transactional nature of our busy lives (if you are interested in knowing more about the levels of listening, search up Stephen Covey's theory of listening, fascinating stuff!).

  • I  will use a range of modalities, visualisations and questions to enable you to access the beliefs, values, thoughts and behaviours which run like a script below the surface.

  • I will echo back / hold up a mirror to what I have observed (with your permission). This is powerful and where many of the transformational moments happen, since we are often not aware of these scripts.

  • We will always end a session agreeing the actions you'll take between sessions, and you will leave feeling resourced, present and ready to move on with the rest of your your day.

That’s completely okay.

You don’t need to come with a clear plan or the “right words.” We can start wherever you are, even if that’s “I don’t really know.” Part of the process is finding language for things that are hard to explain.

We can slow things down at any point. There’s no pressure to push through or keep going if something feels too much. We can pause, take a break, or shift focus.

The pace is led by what feels manageable for you.
